What is the 4th Trimester?
The 4th Trimester is the 12 weeks immediately after the birth of your baby. It is a time of physical and emotional changes for you and your tiny newborn baby.
During the fourth trimester, you can expect fussiness and crying from your baby. Newborn babies are learning to adjust to life outside the womb where it was warm and squishy!
So many firsts are being experienced in a very short amount of time, it can be very overwhelming for your little one, they would have preferred a few more months inside your uterus.
For new parents, this can be a very overwhelming and disorienting time.
During the 4th Trimester, Mums are recovering from childbirth, and may be experiencing soreness, cramping, healing of wounds, and several weeks of postpartum bleeding.
The shift from pregnancy hormones back to a normal hormones can cause a n an upheaval of emotion often referred to as "the Baby Blues". Its important to remember this is normal and part of the experience of creating new life.

Perineal Massage - Child Birth Preparation
The perineum is the area between your vagina and anus that stretches during child birth.

Starting at around week 34 of pregnancy, perineum massage is best done after a warm bath or shower. Try to massage you perineum 2 to 3 times per week for 3 to 4 mins.
