Founded in London in 1999, Jellycat have been creating original and innovative soft toys since.
They continue to combine luxurious fabrics with designs that are sometimes quirky, sometimes cute but always with a little something different that makes them stand out from the crowd.
Why are they called Jellycat?
A question we often hear is "why are they called Jellycat?" The name Jellycat was dreamt up by a child who loved jellies and cats and giggled at the thought of the two together. The silliness of the name was a great reflection of the design and so it stuck.
Are Jellycat Toys suitable for Babies?
Yes. Most Jellycat toys are suitable from birth, with the expception of those with a age recommendation on the tag. This wll also be listed online where required. Jellycat toys are designed in the UK and manufactured in China to the highest quality and safety standards. All Jellycat toys are tested to the European Safety Standard (EN71 parts 1, 2 & 3), and the US Safety Standard (ASTM).
Caring for your Jellycat
Unless otherwise stated on the sew-in label, it is recommended that Jellycatsare kept clean with a surface wash of all their toys with soap and rinsed with cool water. Once clean the fur can be dried with a hair dryer with little or no heat. Please refer to the Safety and Suitability tab for each individual product on recommendations for how to wash.
